TERM 4 (OCT. - DEC.)	Reading and writing; Comprehension and responding to texts; Basic language techniques; Creative responses to written and visual stimulus; Developing vocabulary
TERM 1 (JAN. - MAR.)	Using comprehension skills to develop skills that allow students to consider purpose and intent; Creative writing based on personal experience; Creative writing using diary entries and journals; More advanced language techniques and visual techniques
TERM 2 (APR. - JUN.)	Writing in various forms using language techniques; Analysis of texts to consider subjective and objective responses; Developing vocabulary
TERM 3 (JUL. - SEPT.)	Introduction to effective essay writing; Creative writing using solour and the senses other than sight; Continuing vocabulary development; Writing poetry
